Martin Creed
Martin Creed nació en Wakefield, Reino Unido, en 1968, y se crió en Glasgow. Actualmente vive y trabaja en Londres y Alicudi, Italia. Ha participado en multitud de exposiciones en todo el mundo, y en 2001 fue ganador del Turner Prize con la obra titulada Work No. 227 The lights going on and off. Sus exposiciones individuales más recientes incluyen Mothers (Hauser & Wirth, Londres, Savile Row, 2011); Down Over Up (Fruitmarket Gallery, Edimburgo, 2010); Ballet Work No. 1020 (Traverse Theatre, Edimburgo, 2010); Things (The Common Guild, Glasgow, 2010); Work No. 409 (Royal Festival Hall, Londres, 2010; Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, Hiroshima, 2009); Ikon Gallery (Birmingham, 2008) y Duveen Commission (Tate Britain, Londres, 2008).
Las palabras y la música siempre han sido parte integrante del trabajo de Creed. En las actuaciones de su banda, combina a menudo artes visuales con palabras, coreografía y música.

Creed creó su propia banda, ‘Owada’, en 1994, nombre que dejó de utilizar en 1999. En 1997 lanzaron su primer CD, Nothing [Nada], en el sello David Cunningham's Piano. En el año 2000 publicó una grabación de sus canciones con su propio nombre, en la editorial Art Metropole, de Toronto. En 2010 creó la portada de un single de Futuristic Retro Champions, y apoyó su lanzamiento con una actuación de su propia banda. En 2009 escribió y coreografió ‘Ballet’, un espectáculo que combina charla, música y danza, producido por Sadler's Wells, Londres. En 2010 ‘Ballet’ se representó durante ocho días en el Traverse Theatre de Edimburgo, como parte del Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Esta obra se representará en el teatro Sadler’s Wells, de Londres, el 21 de junio de 2011.
