History of MARCO
October 2002. The Foundation constitution. On the 22nd day, representatives of the four founding institutions - Vigo City Council, Caixanova, Xunta de Galicia and County Council of Pontevedra - sign the Deed of Incorporation of MARCO Foundation in Vigo City Council.
December 2002. Foundation of Cultural Interest. The Consellería da Presidencia, Relacións Institucionais e Administración Pública da Xunta de Galicia [Galician Regional Ministry of Presidency, Institutional Relations and Public Administration], by Order of the 13th day of December 2002, classifies MARCO Foundation of Cultural Interest.
January 2003. Foundation of Galician Interest. The Consellería de Cultura, Comunicación Social e Turismo da Xunta de Galicia [Galician Regional Ministry of Culture, Social Communication and Tourism], by Order of the 15th day of January 2003, orders MARCO Foundation to be registered in the Record of Foundations of Galician Interest.
January 2006. Entry of the Spanish Ministry of Culture. On the 11th day of January 2006, the minister of Culture, Carmen Calvo Poyato, and the mayor of Vigo at that time, Corina Porro Martínez - acting as president of MARCO Foundation - signed in Vigo the Protocol of Collaboration by which the Ministry of Culture entered the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, investing 150,000 euros annually.
