Juan Canela (Seville, 1980) lives and works in Barcelona. Independent curator and writer. Founder and curator of BAR project and founder member of Radiobucket and Azotea. He has curated exhibitions as Lo viejo y lo nuevo, AdnPlatform, Barcelona (2013), Lanza una roca y a ver qué pasa, La Casa Encendida, Madrid (2013); El espacio cósmico estaba ahí, Bacelos Gallery Madrid/Vigo (2013); editorial project Radio de Acción, Espacio Abisal, Bilbao (2011) or Ref.08001, NoguerasBlanchard, Barcelona (2010). He has curated the round table program Vertex, conversations in art, politics and society for ADN Think Tank, and at the moment he is curating Lesson 0, a long-term project for Espai13 Fundació Miró, Barcelona. He was recipient of a residency at La Ene, Nuevo Museo Energía de Arte Contemporáneo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He usually writes for art magazines such as A*Desk, Dardo magazine, Exit-Express, SOUTH Magazine and Kaleidoscope.
