The Friends of MARCO Association was founded in 2003 when the MARCO Foundation Board of Trustees approved its Internal Regulations, and it became a permanent member of FEAM, www.feam.es [9], Federación Española de Amigos de Museos [Spanish Federation of Friends of the Museums].

Our aims

• To contribute to the development and maintenance of the MARCO as a project
• To raise awareness among civil society for the sake of preservation and diffusion of the wealth of our heritage
• To be a bridge between MARCO, the city and its environment
• To participate in the active life of the museum by supporting its initiatives and projects, creating new habits and promoting cultural diversity

Guided tours

To the MARCO exhibitions before their opening, with the curator
To other exhibitions guided by specialized personnel
To artists’ workshops

Cycle "Workers of the image"

Series of talks and screenings in which women who work in different fields of the arts will share their professional experience

Day trips and visits

To Museums or Art Centres nearby, such as the Fundação de Serralves in Porto, the CGAC, Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea [Galician Center of Contemporary Art] in Santiago de Compostela, or the Museo de Bellas Artes [Museum of Fine Arts] in A Coruña, depending on their exhibition calendar.

Travels around Spain and abroad

We look for the culturally significant features by choosing biennials, exhibitions or special events in places that have an active cultural, social or artistic life full of possibilities.
