Martin Creed
Martin Creed naceu en Wakefield, Reino Unido, en 1968, e criouse en Glasgow. Actualmente vive e traballa en Londres e Alicudi, Italia. Participou en multitude de exposicións en todo o mundo, e en 2001 foi gañador do Turner Prize coa obra titulada Work No. 227 The lights going on and off. As súas exposicións individuais máis recentes inclúen Mothers (Hauser & Wirth, Londres, Savile Row, 2011); Down Over Up (Fruitmarket Gallery, Edimburgo, 2010); Ballet Work No. 1020 (Traverse Theatre, Edimburgo, 2010); Things (The Common Guild, Glasgow, 2010); Work No. 409 (Royal Festival Hall, Londres, 2010; Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, Hiroshima, 2009); Ikon Gallery (Birmingham, 2008) e Duveen Commission (Tate Britain, Londres, 2008).
As palabras e a música sempre foron parte integrante do traballo de Creed. Nas actuacións da súa banda, combina a miúdo artes visuais con palabras, coreografía e música.

Creed creou a súa propia banda, ‘Owada’, en 1994, nome que deixou de utilizar en 1999. En 1997 lanzaron o seu primeiro CD, Nothing [Nada], no selo David Cunningham’s Piano. No ano 2000 publicou unha gravación das súas cancións co seu propio nome, na editorial Art Metropole, de Toronto. En 2010 creou a portada dun single de Futuristic Retro Champions, e apoiou o seu lanzamento cunha actuación da súa propia banda. En 2009 escribiu e coreografiou ‘Ballet’, un espectáculo que combina charla, música e danza, producido por Sadler’s Wells, Londres. En 2010 ‘Ballet’ representouse durante oito días no Traverse Theatre de Edimburgo, como parte do Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Esta obra representarase no teatro Sadler’s Wells, de Londres, o 21 de xuño de 2011.
